What can you expect from Fitness By Design...
 I am very pleased with how Matt has worked with me .  I feel stronger and my back problems are much diminished because of the strengthening of my core.  I also appreciate that I don't have to worry about how many reps or which machines to choose. I trust Matt to offer me exercises which will not hurt my back and yet have variety.  We don't do the same routine every session.  The class passes quickly and  I actually enjoy working out!  Thanks to Matt I feel healthier and stronger, which is encouraging when you are in your 50's. I began training with Matt in Feb of 2014 with the goal of increasing my overall muscle mass, improve my flexibility, strength, agility and quickness to enable me to perform at the highest level possible for my upcoming Hockey Junior A Evaluation Camp.  Matt and I discussed my goals and he helped me design an aggressive program to meet my goals. With his personalized approach to my training and lifestyle, both inside and outside of the gym, I was able to add on 3 kilos of pure muscle mass, while increasing my strength and flexibility levels. I am now in better shape mentally and physically and ready for my Evaluation Camp.

My husband and I have tried doing the "gym" thing and it didn't work for us, it was expensive and we really had no way of knowing what exercises to do in order to get the results we wanted and the cost of a personal trainer was insane. We were happy to find Matt, as we were able to have a personal trainer to make an exercise program for both of us that catered to our personal goals, ability and fit into our busy schedules. At first when I decided to get in shape I did not know how to go about it. I expected that working with a personal trainer might be a good place to start. Matt has an Intro to Personal training program and that is what I chose to do. After meeting Matt for an initial fitness assessment I knew that this was a good decision. I am enjoying my time as a participant in Fitness By Design’s program development and online coaching program. A couple months ago I contacted Matt from Fitness by Design since I wanted to get rid of some stubborn pounds, reshape my body and learn how to properly strength train. I had been doing lots of cardio activity which kept the weight off but did not tone my body as much as I wanted. I had my first meeting with Matt to discuss my goals; he was very professional, knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. Matt quickly designed a program just for me and right away I started doing one-on-one training. Every time I show up for personal training, he is ready, organised and wastes no time at all.  I also started attending his group training sessions twice a week. I love these sessions as they are always different, fun and I even made new friends. Matt also ensures everyone uses the right form and technique for all movements. I have noticed great results after 2 months of training and I’m excited to see what the next couple of months will bring. My thighs have  slimmed down, my glutes are stronger, my arms are getting toned and my stomach if flatter. Other benefits I have experienced are: feeling stronger, improved self-esteem and learning proper technique. I would highly recommend Fitness by Design to anyone wanting to achieve results in a healthy and safe way. As a disabled person, I have very specific needs when it comes to exercise. Matt really listens and designs my exercise program based on my abilities. He focusses on what I can do rather than what I cannot. He acknowledges that we know our bodies best and that we know what works for us and what does not.
